About Me

If Shanjeevan had his choice, he would have gills instead of lungs. He spends as much time as he can scuba diving and blowing bubbles. When he’s a land lover you can find Shanjeevan working on a range of innovative projects that aim to engage, entertain, and educate people about the ocean.

His goal is to make a lasting contribution to society through innovation and make a difference in his community. He solves environmental problems through an interdisciplinary approach and fosters leadership values, skills and abilities by engaging in collective, solution-oriented projects.

He is a passionate adventure traveller. Adventure travelling is one of the greatest gifts that fuel his soul. Developing a Biosensor to Detect Aspergillus Fungi
2020

Korea-SIS team won a gold medal at iGEM Competition 2020 for developing a biosensor to detect Aspergillus fungi infection that destroys 40% of rice grains during post-harvest storage in Sri Lanka.I provided extensive support to develop this project and guided the team on co-developing with the support of multiple stakeholders from local farmers, life-science, agriculture, engineering and manufacturing.
